Election Day: May 2nd

Yes Vote: Addison remains part of DART

No Vote: Dart services stop immediately

Why Addison Should Stay in DART

Addison has been part of the regional transit system for over 40 years.

Remaining in DART ensures that Addison continues to benefit from regional connectivity, transit services, and future infrastructure investments.

What DART Provides Today

DART currently provides multiple transportation services in Addison:

• Access to the Silver Line regional rail

• Bus routes connecting Addison to surrounding cities
• GoLink, an on-demand transportation service
• Paratransit services for residents with disabilities

These services help residents commute, support local businesses, and connect Addison to the larger Dallas-Fort Worth region.

What Happens If Addison Leaves

If Addison voters choose to withdraw from DART:

• All DART services would end immediately once the vote is finalized
• The Silver Line train will still pass through Addison but will not stop
• Bus routes and on-demand transit would end, But Buses will continue to travel through Addison- without stopping

In addition:

• The 1% DART sales tax would continue to pay off existing transit debt

What About Alternative Transit?

City leaders have discussed the possibility of replacing DART services with a microtransit system.

However:

  • No official council action has been taken yet

  • Any microtransit contract would be paid in addition to existing DART debt obligations

  • This would result in higher short-term costs than remaining in DART

More details about alternatives are still being discussed.

Regional Mobility Matters

North Texas is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.

Remaining connected to regional transportation helps ensure Addison continues to participate in:

• Ease of transport to -DFW airport and Downtown Dallas
• Workforce mobility
• Long-term infrastructure planning
